Ways to Save on Airline Tickets

People are finding higher airfares as airlines cut back on flights thereby reducing available seats for sale. Bargains are still to be found, but some very simple money saving tips are useful to help save money on your next trip.
A. Airlines are favoring people who order their tickets on the airline's own web site. Start on the airline offerings first, then compare for lower rates on online agencies. Airlines pay those booking agencies and offer benefits in lower fares and possible services when tickets are purchased directly from their online sites. {Your objective are lower fares and perks offered by the airlines. Shopping pays in both money savings and other benefits offered by the airlines on their company web sites.}
B. Sign up for e-mail alerts on fares and promotions out of your local airport. Even if you are not traveling the infomation will be used for comparison shopping at a later time.
C. Travel at odd times, first flight out in the morning or late at night can save you money on tickets. Tuesday and Wednesday midweek avoid business travelers and are least traveled days of the weeks. D. Traveling internationally for vacations, watch for seasonal rates when you have the options of when you travel. One week can make a big difference in fares on when you leave or return from many destinations.
E. Live in an area of several airports within a reasonable distance to depart or return to? Los Angeles, LAX..Burbank, BUR..Orange County/John Wayne, SNA..Ontario, ONT..Long Beach, LGB in  New York, John F Kennedy, JFK..La Guardia, LGA..Nawark, EWR..White Plains, HPN..Long Island Islip, ISP.. Miami Area, MIA.. West Palm Beach, PBI..Fort Lauderdale, FLL.  Driving to another airport to save on air fares is an old trick in saving money on airfares.
{Renting a car at your destination? It maybe cheaper to fly into one airport and returning from another. Watch the drop off charges many rental car companies charge.}
F.  Book early.  As soon as you can make your plans on dates to travel, start comparing prices.  Prices are usually higher as the seats are sold, so early shopping will pay dividends in lower fares.
G.  Check out online booking agencies for prices and possible additional tips on what is available around the times you wish to travel.  This way you can always check to see if more than one airline is possible for your trip.
